House of Commons (room to be confirmed)

As the UK prepares to exit from the European Union and embarks on a journey towards a net zero emissions economy, new challenges are arising in terms of how we produce and consume energy as a country. International collaboration can offer solutions to the many challenges the UK faces and the Government has identified Norway as a key strategic partner in delivering on the ambitions of its Clean Growth Strategy. Whether it’s in terms of the new electricity interconnection, developing markets for decarbonised gases such as Hydrogen, or collaboration on offshore CO2 storage, the future relationship between the UK and Norway will have a major impact on the future of energy in the two countries.

On 2nd July, PRASEG Vice Chair, Alan Brown MP, will host a meeting in Parliament to discuss the future of UK – Norway relations on sustainable energy. The discussion will begin with a keynote intervention from Mr Auke Lont, CEO & President of Statnett, the state-owned company responsible for owning and operating the Norwegian electricity grid, before the conversation is opened up to a discussion on hte opportunities to deliver clean growth and address common barriers to decarbonisation of the energy sector.
